Lichun Solar Term
Start of Spring (Lichun) is the first of the 24 solar terms, occurring around February 3-5 when the sun reaches 315 degrees celestial longitude. "Li" means "beginning," and "spring" represents warmth and growth. This solar term signifies the beginning of all things and the renewal of life, marking the start of a new cycle. In traditional Chinese culture, Start of Spring also marks the beginning of the year in the Ganzhi calendar system, making it the true astronomical new year.
